Nelson Airport Terminal

Feldspar partnered with Nelson-based project management company Aesculus for the redevelopment of Nelson Airport. David Booth of Feldspar served as Project Director, reporting directly to the Chief Executive of Nelson Airport. The project involved constructing a new 5,500m² terminal building, redeveloping the access road and car park, and fully upgrading the airport's services.

Secured through a competitive tender process, our role spanned from concept stage through design development, consenting, procurement, to final delivery and fit-out. Working closely with Aesculus, we successfully delivered this complex and challenging project while minimising disruption to daily airport operations. The project was staged, keeping parts of the existing terminal open as new sections were commissioned. This significant undertaking required a strong working relationship with the client, contractors, and various stakeholders to ensure its successful completion.
